In December 2017, EEW Group booked the biggest clad pipe order ever in its history. A customer from the Near East placed an order for the production of more than 75,000 tons of pipes made of roll-clad plates.
The pipes are part of a submarine gas pipeline connecting an offshore platform with the refinery onshore. After long order negotiations, our project team managed to establish our quotation against a strong pressure exerted by the competitors and gained the order for approx. 85% of the entire project volume for EEW, i. e. 158 km pipeline. Pipe production is done in the Erndtebrück plant and will take almost two years' time. The first pipe was delivered in March 2018 and the last one is on schedule for December 2019.
"The project represents a new milestone for the EEW Group and confirms our decision in Erndtebrück to put the focus on special products even beyond assembly", Christoph Schorge reports. "In addition to this, we now are faced with the unique chance to establish EEW as one of the world market leaders for metallurgically clad pipes. This requires strict adherence to the delivery schedule and the quality requirements. As long as we pursue the track with our team spirit and a high level of communication, I am convinced that we will bring this project to a success as well", Christoph Schorge says.
