EEW secures order for 30 TPs for Hornsea Two

EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH (EEW SPC), located at Rostock/Germany, is pleased to announce that the Danish Energy company Ørsted placed an order for 30 Transition Pieces for the Hornsea 2 offshore wind project. The contract has been signed on 26 June 2019 during the Global Offshore Wind Conference in London.

The TPs will be manufactured at EEW Offshore Structures Britain (EEW OSB) in Teesside/UK. Production will start in September 2019.

After producing the TPs for Burbo Bank Extension, Walney Extension, Hornsea One and Borssele 1+2, this is a further order from Ørsted within this valued longterm cooperation between both companies.

EEW Offshore Structures (Britain) Limited is a subsidiary of EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH. The company, which is located on the river Tees, has at its disposal 17 ha (42 acre) of land, more than 13,000 square meters of steel manufacturing facilities under roof and 2,000 square meters of blasting and painting facilities. Since production start in 2015 the number of employees has increased to more than 180. The facilities are particularly well suited for the production of large tubular offshore wind foundations, most notably transition pieces for monopile foundations.
