EEW SPC delivers monopiles for Windpark Fryslan

Rostock-based EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH has received an order from the Dutch company Van Oord NV for the production of 89 monopiles for the 382.7 MW offshore wind farm Fryslȃn. The financial close was already reached on 1 October 2019.

In total EEW SPC will process over 19,000 tons of steel for this order between January 2020 and September 2020.

The special feature of this wind farm, which will be erected 6 kilometres off the Frisian coast in the IJsselmeer, is that after completion it will be the world's largest wind farm in domestic waters. Windpark Fryslȃn is scheduled to be operational by 2021 and will then supply more than 500,000 households with electricity.
