The contract was signed on 20 December, 2018 in Kolding, Denmark. After the successful partnership with the offshore wind project Sandbank, this is the second direct project with Vattenfall for EEW SPC. Heiko Mützelburg, CEO/Managing Director of EEW SPC, comments: "We are very happy that Vattenfall has again commissioned us to manufacture the monopiles for one of their offshore wind projects. This is good news for our company just before Christmas. With the collaboration on the Sandbank project having been so outstanding, I am convinced that we will also successfully complete Kriegers Flak together."
As of today, production is planned for the period May to September 2019. In total, about 43,200 tons of steel are to be processed into monopiles.
After its commissioning, expected late 2021, Kriegers Flak will be Denmark's largest offshore wind farm, supplying electricity to 600,000 Danish households.
