In order to better supply our customers in Southeast Asia, Oceania and Australia, in the year 2008, the EEW Group founded a plant for longitudinally-welded steel pipes in Malaysia. Equipped with a four-roll bending machine with 4.2 m (13.8 ft.) length and a JCO bending machine with 12.5 m (41 ft.) length, EEW Malaysia is in a position to manufacture longitudinally-welded steel pipes with outer diameters between 406 mm (16”) and 5,080 mm (200”) and wall thicknesses of up to 133.4 mm (5.252”). Our plant near Pasir Gudang on the south coast of Malaysia is therefore well equipped for the manufacturing of large structural pipes and pipe constructions. But customers in the pipeline business can also expect the best solutions if they choose EEW Malaysia as a supplier.

Key competencies
Pre-fabrication of pipe components
Time is a significant factor in success, especially for our customers in the offshore construction industry. In order to significantly reduce the construction time of massive offshore constructions and in order to ensure quick delivery, EEW does not just produce singel lengths of pipe, but also complete components ready for installation. These pipe constructions can be manufactured up to a length of 120 metres (393.7 ft.) and a piece weight of up to 800 tonnes.
Coating facilities
In addition to primary steel products, EEW Malaysia is able to offer a complete service, made up of pipe accessories, secondary steel and coating. Various coating procedures, such as fusion bonded epoxy coating (FBE), three-layer polyethylene coating (3LPE), internal flow coating systems or glass flake coatings can be carried out using our in-plant facilities.
Full-length pipe expander
A special feature in our Malaysian plant’s production programme is the possibility to manufacture expanded pipes. These pipes are available in measurements from 406 mm (16”) to 5,080 mm (200”) in outside diameter, wall thicknesses of up to 133.4 mm (5.252”) and single lengths of up to 13 m (42.7 ft.). With the implementation of the expander technology, we guarantee perfect ovality of the pipe as well as process stability, reproducibility and economic viability.
