The 120 MW wind park is the first commercial offshore wind park in Taiwan. EEW SPC is therefore particularly excited that the wind park is to be based on the foundations supplied by EEW SPC. “Formosa 1 is our first offshore wind project in Asia. As well as Europe, the Asian and American markets will also be in our focus in the future. We are very grateful to Jan de Nul for their renewed confidence towards us and we are fully committed for this contract to contribute to the complete success of the whole project”, said Michael Hof, COO/Managing Director of EEW SPC.
“We have worked with EEW SPC for the installation of 51 monopile foundations on the Nobelwind project in Belgium in 2016/2017 and we are delighted to be able to continue this fruitful collaboration for our first offshore wind project in Asia”, adds Peter De Pooter, Manager Offshore Renewables of Jan De Nul Group.
The production of the foundations will start at the Rostock location in October 2018. The wind park is planned to be competed in the second half of 2019.
